MARY OLIVER AS MUSE – A Writing Workshop with Lara Tupper, June 15
On Saturday, June 15th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., Richmond Free Public Library will present a
writing workshop led by Lara Tupper — MARY OLIVER AS MUSE. Beloved Massachusetts
poet Mary Oliver (1935 – 2019) wrote of self-compassion and the natural world. In this writing
workshop, participants will explore these themes in Oliver’s poems and in brief writing
exercises. No writing experience or prior knowledge of Oliver is necessary, just a willingness
to be curious on the page. All adults are welcome to attend; please bring a notebook and a
pen. This program is free for participants and is supported in part by a grant from the
Richmond Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a
